DOMINIK PECKA
Sound mixing engineer

About me
I am currently the FOH engineer for the Czech metal band Dymytry, bringing nearly 30 years of experience across an exceptionally wide range of genres — from metal and rock to orchestral, opera, jazz, rap, electronic, ambient, and film soundtracks.
My journey began early: as a kid drumming in local hardcore bands while studying at a school of musical instrument making. I later pursued film sound at college, sharpening my skills in local clubs and studios, and as a field recording engineer and assistant on commercials and feature films. Before long, I found myself in the van on European tours with artists from the alternative music scene.
As my reputation grew, I became a go-to choice for both bands and fellow engineers — earning a steady stream of local and international touring work. Notable international credits include Black Lips (USA) and Hidden Orchestra (UK). Closer to home, I became a resident engineer at some of Prague's most respected venues: Palác Akropolis, Roxy, and MeetFactory.
A long-standing collaboration with the well-known Czech rock band Škwor followed — and after their landmark show at the O2 Arena,
I began receiving requests from major Czech artists to mix their own O2 Arena appearances.
That list includes Leoš Mareš, Ben Cristovao, Marie Rotterová, opera singer Štefan Margita, Dara Rolins, Kontrafakt, Helena Vondráčková,
and Dymytry, among others. After 16 years with Škwor, I made a deliberate move.
For the past three years, my focus has been on Dymytry, the cinematic live project Le Magnifique by Ondřej Brzobohatý — featuring beloved movie melodies — and the RCZ Symphony tour, which brings Rammstein's music to life with a full symphonic orchestra.
Beyond live work, I run my own rehearsal and recording studio. I also offer mentoring and seminars for sound engineers, sharing the knowledge accumulated over nearly three decades, and provide acoustic design and instalations for studios, restaurants, and schools.
